Description

The story of a Rwandan boy who escapes from the 1994 genocide and makes it to America. Although fictional, it is a story that is both horrific and inspiring. Faustin was a normal schoolboy growing up, very good at running and soccer. But dark secrets of the past hung over his family, leading to his father disapproving of his friends and football. As the genocide unfolds, Faustin discovers the truth about his father's disability, experiences cruelty from schoolteachers, and witnesses the horror of neighbor turning against neighbor. With his family slain, his survival depends on his running and courage to outwit the enemy, with the help of an unlikely friend.
