Matisse the Master - A Life of Henri Matisse 1909-1954

Revealing Matisse's art-life convergence.

If Matisse's vivid canvases fascinate you, Hilary Spurling's biography will deepen that fascination as it delves into the intersection of his personal narrative with his groundbreaking artistic journey. You’ll find it's like peeling back layers of paint to reveal the man behind the myth, a journey as colorful and complex as his artwork.
