es ist wohl nicht übertrieben BANKSY aus england als MR.STREETART und einen DER pioniere dieser subculture zu bezeichnen. wie kaum ein anderer versteht er es, die schockierende wirkung, die power und die dynamik von urbaner straßenkunst, die in erster linie aus dem zusammenspiel von ort (einer öffentlichen fläche) und dem bild resultiert, dem betrachter aufzuzwingen! englands most wanted street anarchist schafft es immer wieder, mit teilweise visuell sehr radikalen, oft aber auch trivialen und witzigen schablonen/bildern auf gesellschaftliche/menschliche missstände aufmerksam zu machen. hier noch ein zitat, das seine (politische) einstellung ganz gut beschreibt: "only when the last tree has been cut down [...] man will realise that reciting red indian proverbs makes you sound like a fucking muppet". BANKSY - WALL AND PIECE ist ein muss für jeden, der sich auch nur etwas für diese materie interessiert!
