The first of its kind to be published, this collection is the work of an experienced editor, Professor Muhammad Haji Salleh, who is a Professor of Literature in the Science University of Malaysia, Penang, and an important poet, critic, and translator. This meticulous selection is preceded by a long and detailed introduction to the literary scene and its historical, social, and political setting.
