Description

Somethin' Else, Cannonball Adderley's 1958 Blue Note classic, features Miles Davis in a rare sideman role and showcases a masterful hard bop conversation. Recorded at Van Gelder Studio in Hackensack with Hank Jones, Sam Jones, and Art Blakey, the session pairs Adderley's radiant alto with Davis's lyrical trumpet on tunes like Autumn Leaves and Love For Sale. Widely regarded as a companion piece to Kind of Blue, the album remains a defining statement of late 1950s jazz. This Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab UltraDisc One-Step edition, released in 2023, presents the recording with supreme clarity and detail for discerning listeners.
