Description

Sketches of Spain is Miles Davis's landmark collaboration with Gil Evans, blending Davis's lyrical trumpet with lush orchestral textures and flamenco-flavored themes. This 65th anniversary edition from Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab, issued as an UltraDisc One-Step 180-gram LP, brings the original performances to life with remarkable clarity. The program opens with Concierto de Aranjuez and includes Will o' the Wisp, The Pan Piper, Saeta, and Solea, highlighting Evans's orchestral palette and the album's flamenco-inflected mood. As part of the Miles Davis restoration series, this edition is designed to showcase the intimate, cinematic depth of the music that has made Sketches of Spain a touchstone in Davis's catalog.
