David Crosby's For Free, originally released in 2021, is the eighth solo studio album from the legendary singer-songwriter, delivering his warm, reflective storytelling. The record features Michael McDonald on River Rise and Sarah Jarosz on the title track, while Donald Fagen co-wrote Rodriguez for a Night, adding a subtle jazz-inflected edge. The title track For Free is a reverent cover of Joni Mitchell's song, performed with Crosby’s intimate, weathered voice. Joan Baez provided the cover art for the release, underscoring Crosby's enduring connections in the folk world.
