Description
It was for the departing tears of Ah King, Maugham's faithful servant on his six-month journey through Borneo, Indo-China and Siam, that Maugham gave Ah King's name to this collection of stories, invented while the two were travelling together. The six stories in this volume bear testimony to Maugham's acute powers of observation, and his clear, unpretentious style of writing makes these stories as interesting a read today as when they were first published.
