Some Instructions to My Wife would be a great read for anyone who enjoys satirical humor. Stanley Crawford uses a boorish narrator to deliver seventy-three pieces of advice to his family on how to maintain domestic tranquility in an age of anxiety. While taken literally, the narrator may seem like a male chauvinist pig, the satirical commentary on marriage manuals runs deep in the American grain. This book is a witty and entertaining read that pokes fun at societal norms and expectations surrounding marriage and family life.
