The Light Saw Me is a science fiction infused concept album from Jason Boland & The Stragglers, produced by Shooter Jennings, blending Red Dirt country with spacey, cinematic textures. The narrative follows a 19th-century Texas cowboy who is abducted by aliens and wakes up in the 1990s, using the journey to explore love, existence, and meaning. Originally released December 3, 2021, the album arrived on Proud Souls Entertainment in partnership with Thirty Tigers. The title track and the broader concept demonstrate Boland's willingness to push his storytelling into expansive, cinematic territory while staying true to his Red Dirt roots.
