Quickness is Bad Brains' fourth full-length studio album, originally released by Caroline Records in 1989 and noted for its fierce fusion of hardcore punk with funk and metal influences. The opening track Soul Craft was backed by an MTV video, helping the band reach a wider audience. This remastered vinyl reissue, overseen by Org Music and with mastering by Dave Gardner, preserves the core album while highlighting its fast, tight performances. Drums on Quickness were performed by Mackie Jayson rather than Earl Hudson, a detail often noted in discussions of the session. The album's track list includes Soul Craft, Voyage Into Infinity, The Messengers, With The Quickness, Gene Machine / Don't Bother Me, Instrumental, Sheba, Yout' Juice, No Conditions, Silent Tears, The Prophets Eye, and Endtro.
