Isobel Campbell, the Glaswegian singer and former Belle and Sebastian member, presents Milkwhite Sheets, a hushed blend of traditional Appalachia and British Isles folk with Campbell's own songs. Originally issued in 2006 as Campbell's fourth solo album, Milkwhite Sheets followed Ballad of the Broken Seas. This 2020 reissue from Cooking Vinyl arrives as a gatefold vinyl release with a faithful, intimate sound. The album interweaves traditional material with Campbell's originals, and its spare, hushed mood has been praised for its haunting blend of folk textures.
