Description

Late Night Jazz showcases Chet Baker in a late-career 1988 Paris studio session, performed with a quartet including Philip Catherine on guitar, Egil Kapstad on piano, and Terje Venaas on bass. The recording, captured February 17-18, 1988 at Studio Sysmo, features Baker's intimate trumpet tone and his vocal on How High The Moon. Originally issued in 1988 on the Norwegian Hot Club Records label, this release marks the first worldwide vinyl appearance of the session and includes three alternate takes along with a 12-page booklet of unpublished photos. This deluxe two‑LP edition brings Baker's lyrical jazz mastery into clear focus for fans of his late-period work.
