Description

Inta Somethin' captures Kenny Dorham leading a vibrant 1961 live quintet with Jackie McLean at The Jazz Workshop in San Francisco. This 2024 Blue Note Tone Poet Series reissue presents four standards bookended by two Dorham originals, highlighting Dorham's lyrical trumpet dialogue with McLean's incisive alto as Walter Bishop Jr., Leroy Vinnegar, and Art Taylor drive the rhythm. The set features Us, It Could Happen To You, Let's Face The Music and Dance, No Two People, Lover Man, and San Francisco Beat, delivering hard bop energy with melodic sophistication. A landmark live date, the performance showcases the remarkable interplay between two major voices in post-bop jazz.
