Description

Elvis Costello's Hey Clockface, produced with Sebastian Krys, was recorded across Helsinki, Paris, and New York and showcases Costello's evolving songwriting in a bold, genre-spanning set. The New York sessions feature Bill Frisell and Nels Cline, with Michael Leonhart providing arrangements, continuing Costello's collaboration with Krys after Look Now. Originally issued on Concord Records on October 30, 2020, Hey Clockface comprises fourteen tracks that traverse intimate ballads and dynamic, rock-inflected storytelling. Pitchfork's review notes that the album balances energetic rock with softer, Tin Pan Alley-inspired tracks, illustrating Costello's continued willingness to push his sound in new directions.
