Europe 1966 is a four-LP box set of live Albert Ayler performances from his 1966 European tour, spanning Berlin, Lörrach, Stockholm, and Paris. The ensemble features Donald Ayler on trumpet, Michel Samson on violin, William Folwell on bass, and Beaver Harris on drums, delivering Ayler's expansive, ecstatic free jazz energy. Remastered for vinyl by Dave Gardner at Infrasonic Mastering and originally issued for Record Store Day 2023, the release preserves the intensity and spontaneity of Ayler's performances. A 12 x 24 fold-out insert features liner notes by John Litweller and photos from the tour.
