Don Cherry's Complete Communion is a landmark Blue Note session featuring the cornetist with Gato Barbieri on tenor, Henry Grimes on bass, and Ed Blackwell on drums, built around two extended suites that push the boundaries of post-bop and free jazz.
The Tone Poet Series reissue presents the album in 180-gram stereo from Kevin Gray's mastering of the original master tapes, with RTI pressing and a gatefold jacket.
The personnel includes Leandro "Gato" Barbieri on tenor, Henry Grimes on bass, and Ed Blackwell on drums, creating a highly interactive, conversational group dynamic.
Tracks feature Complete Communion and Elephantasy with sub-pieces like And Now, Golden Heart, Remembrance, Wind, Sand and Stars.
