Adia Victoria's A Southern Gothic is a stark, emotionally direct portrait of the American South that blends blues-inflected songwriting with intimate, spare arrangements, opening with Magnolia Blues. The album features collaborations from Matt Berninger of The National, Jason Isbell, Margo Price, and Kyshona Armstrong, with executive production by T Bone Burnett and co-production by Victoria and Mason Hickman. Inspired by Alan Lomax's field recordings, Victoria crafts a modern Southern voice that confronts identity, heritage, and resilience with clarity and power. A Southern Gothic follows Victoria's 2019 release Silences and cements her as a bold, essential voice in contemporary American roots music.
